Choosing Your Freight Mode
Express for samples and urgent restocks, air for orders under 300 kg, ocean for anything larger where timing allows.
Understanding Incoterms
FOB means you control freight from the port. DDP means the supplier handles everything to your door. DDP costs more but removes customs complexity.
Essential Documents
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, and certificate of origin. Missing documents cause clearance delays and storage fees.
Calculating Landed Cost
Landed cost equals unit price plus freight plus duty plus import VAT plus clearance fees, divided by units. Always price from landed cost, never FOB.
Avoiding Clearance Delays
Ensure the HTS code, fibre composition and declared value are consistent across all documents. Discrepancies trigger inspection.
